Gerty Pierre, is a Haitian national, works as Director of the Climate Change Department of Ministry of the Environment in Haiti. She is a biologist, with a master's degree in Biological Sciences, and is currently a doctoral student in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Environmental Health. Her technical skills include studies on atmospheric and marine contamination, climate change, Deputy Focal Point of the UNFCCC, and the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Gerty works on adaptation and mitigation issues and has contributed to the development and implementation of policy briefs and strategy documents for Haiti. Gerty is currently working with the Ministry of Public Health on the development of the National Adaptation Plan for the sector in the face of climate change, developing, administering, and managing environmental public health and sanitation programs, including sanitation at the local level.
