Climate Change and Health Leadership Fellow
Born in Port-au-Prince, Dr. Kenzy Jean Pierre is a physician and specialist in health care management. In fact, he received his medical education at Notre Dame d'Haiti University. Moreover, he is taking additional health care management studies in a joint program between Haiti State University and the University of Montreal.
Dr. Kenzy Jean Pierre is practically and continually present in all areas of Haitian social life where he demonstrates the transversality of health by highlighting the health aspect of each action. Likewise, he strives to address health problems upstream by acting on determinants of health.
Furthermore, he works with several NGOs involved in the health, youth, and climate change sector. Indeed, He is one of the main founders of the NGO Fair World Builders through which he campaigns for the right to health of people in vulnerable situations; of the Haitian Youth Parliament Association for Water and Sanitation. Unsurprisingly, he is seeking to set up an office of the health and climate observatory in Haiti.
In 2016, he received a certificate of appreciation from the urology department of the Haitian State University Hospital for his contribution to the campaign to screen for kidney disease in children. In 2017 he was awarded a certificate of completion as Young Spark by Microsoft Corporation in New York. In 2018, he was named best intern at the Sanatorium Hospital of Port-au-Prince. Also, in 2019 he received a certificate of recognition from the United States Embassy in Port au Prince for his contribution to improving the health of thousands of people as part of the UNSS Comfort. In 2021, his relentless dedication to the youth of his community earned him a plaque of honor from the Royal University of Haiti.
