AAATT / UWI Research Collaboration
On February 16, 2018, The Advertising Agencies Association of Trinidad and Tobago (AAATT) and the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a collaboration which would see students conducting research on topics provided by the AAATT relevant to the advertising and marketing fields; and the opportunity to supplement their curriculum by presenting their research findings to the AAATT Membership to gain practical experience in the world of work.
The MOU was signed between Pro Vice-Chancellor and St. Augustine Campus Principal, Professor Brian Copeland, and AAATT President, Mr. Anthony Inglefield for a two-year research partnership.
Also present at the signing was Dr. Acolla Lewis-Cameron, Head of the Department of Management Studies and Dr. Barney Pacheco of The UWI.
Dr. Acolla Lewis-Cameron stated that students produce a considerable amount of research on a range of matters which remains of academic interest. As such, a further outcome from the collaboration is the consolidation of previous research work to build and make available a broader database of much needed quantitative and qualitative information on advertising, marketing and management in Trinidad & Tobago.
The AAATT and the UWI working together on this collaboration promises to be a fruitful expansion of shared resources and synergy between academia and business.
