Guardian Life Teaching Award \u2013 Paul Balwant<\/h3>\n

Congratulations to our very own Dr. Paul Balwant<\/strong> for copping the prestigious The UWI\/Guardian Group Premium Teaching Award<\/strong> under the theme, “Innvovative Strategies for Teaching Excellence in Lean Times”<\/strong><\/em> which took place last Friday 28th September 2018.<\/p>\n

The Head of the Department, Dr. Acolla Cameron has expressed her appreciation:<\/p>\n

Thank you for your dedication and commitment to excellence. Keep up the excellent work.<\/p>\n

Paul now joins our esteemed group of colleagues in the Department including Marcia Nathai-Balkissoon<\/a>, Chandrashekhar Bhatnagar<\/a> and Surendra Arjoon<\/a> who have also copped this award. This makes the Department of Management Studies the Department with the most awardees. This is an achievement we should be proud of.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

About Dr. Paul Balwant<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Paul Balwant has been lecturing at the Department of Management Studies at The UWI for seven years. He lectures undergraduate and postgraduate courses on leadership, organizational behaviour, and human resource management. Paul holds a PhD in Management from The Institute of Work Psychology at The University of Sheffield, and has been the recipient of prestigious scholarships for his undergraduate and doctoral studies. His studies on instructor-leadership and student engagement have been published in internationally recognized educational journals. In the 2014 Academy of Management Meeting, Paul was awarded the Best Paper in Management Education Award for the paper that offers the most significant contribution to management education.<\/span><\/p>\n
