Congratulations to Alicia Pauline Lalite-Ettienne on Her Appointment as Independent Senator
The Department of Management Studies proudly congratulates Alicia Pauline Lalite-Ettienne on her historic appointment as an Independent Senator in the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago.

Alicia is a visually impaired educator, disability advocate, and dedicated doctoral candidate whose life’s work has been a testament to resilience, inclusion, and service. Her appointment marks a significant milestone not only in her personal journey but also for the disabled community, whose voices she continues to uplift through her unwavering advocacy.

Currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration (Human Resource Management) at the Department Alicia’s research sheds light on the experiences of persons with disabilities in the workplace, offering critical perspectives on inclusion, equity, and organizational change. Since 2015, she has served as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Management Studies, where she has inspired countless students through both academic excellence and the power of lived experience.

Alicia is also a trailblazer in assistive technology, having pioneered one of the nation’s first computer training programmes for blind and low-vision individuals empowering over 200 persons with digital skills and independence.

As she embarks on this new chapter, we celebrate Alicia’s achievements as she brings with her a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and a resolute commitment to creating a more inclusive society for all.
