12th March, 2021 – The Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Science and Technology hosted the first VIRTUAL UWI Math Fair. The UWI Math Fair is an event targeting all secondary school students from Forms 1 – 6 to spark their interest in applications of Mathematics and develop their critical thinking skills.

The main objectives are to: (a) spark enthusiasm for the various applications of Mathematics in real life (b) allow students to view Mathematics in an exciting way, using various puzzles and logic games to increase interest in the field and (c) highlight the various programmes and research opportunities available at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), UWI, St. Augustine
