Angélica María Rodríguez Bencosme

PhD in Interdisciplinary Gender Studies

I achieved my B.A. in Interior Design in 2004 with a minor in furniture and further attended the National Dominican Polytechnic Institute to qualify in trade as a carpenter (2005). Afterwards I completed Interdisciplinary Studies of Furniture at the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña (Diploma) and the Universidad de Nebrija (Master of Science). Once back home, I lectured at Dominican universities and attained a second Master’s in Education for Higher Learning from the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey (2013). That same year I published my first book El Mueble de Madera Dominicano, which aimed to rediscover design as a  tool for social inclusion.
