Grade 9 Procurement Assistant III
Procurement Unit

Applications are invited to apply for the post of Procurement Assistant III (Grade 9) in the Procurement Unit.
Duties of the post include:
1.Working closely with all Faculties, Departments and Units, providing guidance on all procurement matters to improve compliance and procurement efficiencies.
2.Assisting in the implementation and execution of procurement policies and procedures, strategic objectives, special initiatives and projects.
3.Assisting in drafting and formatting all procurement documents to be utilized by the wider Campus.
4.Assisting in the organization and delivery of internal procurement training and staff education and awareness initiatives.
5.Assisting in the execution of key procurement activities, including, but not limited to, pre-qualification, monitoring vendor performance, and disposal of assets.
6.Assisting in the collection and collation of data in support of internal reporting as well as external legislative and regulatory procurement reporting requirements.
7.Assisting in the conduct of research, internal surveys and market reviews to inform action and decision-making on a range of complex procurement matters, as guided by the Procurement Services Manager.
8.Liaising with key stakeholders on behalf of, and as directed by, the Procurement Services Manager.
9.Performing other related duties as assigned by the Procurement Services Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Candidates should have knowledge and familiarity with The University’s mission, regulations, structure, policies and procedures. The Procurement Unit places a high priority on individuals of integrity who can work well in a team and a student-friendly environment. Candidates should also possess good communication and interpersonal skills. A good command of both oral and written English is essential, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Candidates must be knowledgeable in procurement practices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business Administration; Project Management; Accounting or Economics or an equivalent qualification in a related discipline from a recognised institution.
Desirable:
Completion of certification in procurement management and/or supply management training from a recognized institution such as the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), Minimum Level 4 Certification. Any other renowned equivalent of procurement certification e.g. the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) will also be accepted.
Experience:
At least five (5) years of experience performing procurement (purchasing) duties.

Salary will be fixed in accordance with Grade 9 of the salary scale ($10,155.00 x 312 - $ 13,899).
