Ms. Shivangelie Ramoutar is a lecturer and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Law at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus. Ms. Ramoutar is an attorney at law of 9 years\u2019 call and previously held the position of Associate at a reputable law firm in the Republic of Trinidad of Tobago where her legal practice included civil and commercial litigation with a special interest in tax litigation.<\/span><\/p>\n

She is also a national scholarship winner, holds a Bachelors of Law Degree with First Class Honours from the University of the West Indies and Master of Laws degree with a commercial specialisation from the University of Cambridge.<\/span><\/p>\n

        My name is Shivangelie Ramoutar. I am an attorney at law of 9 years\u2019 call, alumni of the University of West Indies and national scholarship winner. I attained my Master of Laws degree with a commercial specialization at the University of Cambridge in 2017 and in November 2017 assumed the position of Associate at a reputable law firm in the Republic of Trinidad of Tobago.<\/p>

        My areas of legal practice at the firm included civil and commercial litigation. I also managed the tax litigation portfolio of the firm together with Mr. Martin Daly S.C. until my departure from the firm in December 2023 to join the University of the West Indies as Lecturer in Law.<\/p>

        In January 2024, I joined the team at the Faculty of Law of the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus. I have taught Contract law I to First Year Students, Contract law II to Second Year Students, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Company Law to the Third-year students.<\/p>
