The conference was built upon the proposed bilateral MOU to be entered into by the two Universities, the University of Houston and the UWI. The general goal was to strengthen the ties of collaboration between the Universities and recognizing the benefits to be gained through joint conferences by promoting scholarly activities, fostering knowledge, sharing and strengthening the international recognition and global outreach.
