The UWI Arts Chorale, along with the National Sinfonia Orchestra, continues its 10th anniversary celebration as a choir by presenting ‘Songs for Haiti,’ a concert in memoriam of those who perished in Haiti. The concert takes place on February 7th, 2010 at the Daaga Auditorium, UWI, at 7 pm.
‘Songs for Haiti’ features uplifting sacred classical music, spirituals and gospels. Works include ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing,’ ‘My Lord What a Morning,’ orchestral selections such as ‘Nimrod’ and selections from Schubert’s ‘Mass In G.’
Guest artistes Michele Dowrich, Turon Roberts-Nicholas, and Marlon De Bique will also perform.
Tickets are $100 and are available at the Department of Creative and Festival Arts (DCFA) on Agostini Street, St Augustine, The UWI Arts Chorale, the National Sinfonia Orchestra and The UWI SSteel. All proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross to aid the survivors of the earthquake.
