Undergoing Research in Latin America and the Results of LAPOP research on governance in the region

The Institute of International Relations (IIR) will host a public Lecture on the Latin American Public Opinion Project (LAPOP) and the Americas Barometer that is produced by LAPOP. This lecture, titled “Undergoing Research in Latin America and the Results of LAPOP research on governance in the region,” will take place on Thursday 18th March, 2010, at 1 pm, at the IIR Board Room. 

LAPOP is conducted out of Vanderbilt University and is the leader in public opinion surveys and research in Latin America. LAPOP surveys are done every two years and at present cover 24 Latin American and Caribbean countries. LAPOP functions as a consortium, working in partnership with universities, governmental institutions and research centres.  

IIR, led by Dr. Mark Kirton is currently in partnership with LAPOP in conducting research in both Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname.
