On April 16th, the Institute for Critical Thinking will host a one-day symposium titled “Intersections: Charting the Course for Communications in the Caribbean”. The symposium will address the salient issues and challenges that impact communication in the Caribbean. There will be four roundtable discussions, two morning sessions and two afternoon sessions, with integrated communication representatives to show the fluidity and interdisciplinary nature of the field. The sessions are interdisciplinary, covering the fields of Media, Art & Culture (9:30 to 10:45 a.m.), Gender, Communications & Language (10:55 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), Business Communications, Public Relations (1:30 to 2:40 p.m.), and Communications and Research (2:45 to 3:50 p.m.) One day symposium fee of 150TT for media and communication professionals, free for students.
This symposium is a part of the Communication Studies programme 10th Anniversary Celebrations, comprising a week of events, from Monday 12th-Friday 16th April, 2010.
