The University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus will host a Professorial Inaugural Lecture presented by Professor Gopalakrishna Pillai, Professor of Pharmaceutics entitled, “Nanocapsules: A novel drug delivery system” on Thursday 13^th December, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Amphitheatre A, Eric Williams Medical Sciences Centre, Mount Hope.

The lecture will focus also on fabrication of nanocapsules of selected anticancer agents with non-ionic synthetic surfactants (niosomes), their characterisation, bio distribution in various organs, selective accumulation in the tumour tissue and the altered pharmacokinetics in animal tumour models compared to that of conventional dosage forms.
