Conference On The Economy 2010 - Call for Papers

This year’s conference which pays tribute to Dr. Roy Thomas, a former Lecturer and Head of the Department of Economics, continues in the vein of the department’s three previous conferences. COTE 2010 will be highlighting the key economic, and related developmental issues facing Trinidad and Tobago in particular and the wider region by extension. This year these issues are being presented based on thematic areas of Dr. Thomas’ work. The Department of Economics invites economists, faculty members, post graduate students, policy makers, members of the corporate sector and other interested individuals to submit abstracts for presentations at COTE 2010 to be held from October 7th-9th, 2010, at the Learning Resource Centre, The University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus, Trinidad.

 

Call for Papers

  • Deadline for abstract submission - July 09th 2010
  • Completed papers due - September 27th 2010

Submissions may be considered for main presentation, showcase or concurrent sessions.

Applicants will be notified of their papers’ acceptance by July 16th 2010. 

Abstracts are limited to 250 words, should contain a contact e-mail and be relevant to one of the following sub themes for the conference:

  • An Appropriate Fiscal Regime in Oil and Gas Sector
  • Diversification of Caribbean Economies
  • Labour and Human Capital Development  
  • Environmental Issues in Development
  • Issues of Gender and Economic Development
  • Issues of Governance and the Economy
