UWI Sustainable Economic Development Unit hosts Governance and Development seminar

The Sustainable Economic Development Unit (SEDU) for Small and Island Developing States (SIDS) invites the campus community to a seminar, titled Governance and Development, on Thursday 21st October, 2010, from 1-4 pm, at the Faculty of Social Sciences Lounge. 

The seminar features presentations by Ms. Malini Maharaj, M.Phil student with the Department of Economics, UWI, and research associate of the SEDU, and Mr. Jacob Campbell, PhD candidate in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Arizona, Tucson, and research associate of the SEDU. Ms. Maharaj will deliver a presentation focused on the results of a 2010 Open Budget Survey executed by SEDU for the Trinidad and Tobago 2008/2009 budget year, while Mr Campbell, presents the findings of a study on the relationship between Atlantic LNG and Point Fortin as a “Company Town.”
