CARISCIENCE – Opportunities for Young Researchers

The UWI Faculties of Medical Sciences, Science and Agriculture, and Engineering collaborate to host, “CARISCIENCE – Opportunities for Young Researchers,” on Thursday 24th March, 2011, from 12.30-2 pm, at the Faculty of Engineering, Lecture Theatre 1. This lecture will be presented by Professor Emeritus Harold Ramkissoon, former Executive Secretary of CARISCIENCE. Professor Ramkissoon will give a brief history of CARISCIENCE and highlight some of its major accomplishments.  He will then focus on research opportunities offered by the organization for young researchers.   

CARISCIENCE, a UNESCO-affiliated organization, is a network of research units/departments in the Caribbean whose main objective is the promotion of excellence in the sciences.  It was launched by the late Vice Chancellor, Rex Nettleford, at the Mona Campus in 1998 and is run by researchers for researchers.
