Location: The Heart Ease Classrooms, The UWI, St. Augustine
Students and staff are asked to come out and support the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Blood Drive on Tuesday 8th November, 2011, from 8am- 4pm, at the Heart Ease classrooms in UWI St. Augustine.
All potential donors must present some form of identification (National ID Cards, Driver's Permit or Passport). Persons who are already donors can walk with their donor cards. New donors will have donor cards mailed to them by the Blood Bank.
Please note the following additional guidelines:
Age: Only persons between the ages of 18-60 years may give blood
Weight: Only persons who weigh 110 pounds or greater
Medication: Persons who wish to give blood must not have ingested any medication three days prior to the event
Conditions: People who suffer with Hepatitis B or C, Heart Disease, Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Epilepsy, Malignancy, Renal Disease or Blood Disease cannot give blood
Sexual Lifestyle: Persons who engage in high-risk sexual lifestyles or who have contracted HIV/ Aids cannot give blood.
Deferrals: If any of the following conditions are relevant to your life, please note the timeframe that must have elapsed before you give blood:
