Get to know Kees with the UWI International Office

Event Date(s): 01/12/2011

Location: Daaga Auditorium

Staff are you looking for a fun end to the hectic work day? Students do you need a brain cooler before exams? Well, The UWI International Office (IO) invites the Campus community to its Global Citizenship Dialogue: One on One with Kees, on Thursday 1st December, 2011, featuring Kees Dieffenthaller and Producer Klase in conversation with IO Director, Mr. Sharan Singh.

Come to the Daaga Auditorium from 5-7 pm and join in the dialogue. This conversation will focus on Kees’ life in three segments – his past, what’s going on in his life at present and his goals for the future. Get to know what makes Trinidad and Tobago’s 2011 Groovy Soca Monarch tick. What issues concern him most? How did he become the international soca superstar that he is today? Where does his musical inspiration come from? Where is his career going?

During the course of the dialogue, there will also be an added feature of a ‘Jam session’ where the audience will have the opportunity to participate in the creation of a new song, and potential 2012 soca track, LIVE with Kees and Klase.

About the Global Citizenship Dialogues

The Global Citizenship Dialogues (GCDs) project is an initiative of The UWI’s International Office. It endeavours to create the kinds of perspectives, capabilities and characteristics that will allow UWI students to become true global citizens by hosting a forum for discussing matters of global importance related to civic-mindedness and positive international citizenship. The GCD’s take the form of a conversation, in front of a live audience, between guests of international prominence and the Director of the International Office, Mr, Sharan Singh. The GCD’s are primarily targeted to an audience of young adults and leaders with the expectation that the personalities invited and issues discussed will appeal to them and resonate with their innate leadership, civic and scholastic intelligences.
