Canada’s Governor General visits UWI for a panel discussion

The Governor General of Canada, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, will conduct a State visit to Trinidad & Tobago from May 1st-2nd, 2012, to mark 50 years of bilateral relations between Trinidad & Tobago and Canada, as well as the 50th anniversary of our country’s independence. 

As a part of this visit, UWI will host a panel discussion with a keynote address by His Excellency titled, “Educating and Innovating in a Connected World,” on Wednesday 2nd May, 2012, at 2.30pm, at the Daaga Auditorium.

The panel will also feature a mix of Trinidadian and Canadian delegates, including Mrs. Nobina Robinson, Chief Executive Officer at Polytechnics, Canada; Ms. Karen McBride, President and Chief Executive Officer at the Canadian Bureau for International Education; and Mr. James Knight, President Association of Canadian Community Colleges.
