Join the excitement as experts try to record as many plant and animal species as possible in 24 hours at Tucker Valley in Chaguaramas. The scientists will start at 3pm on Saturday, 17th November and the public can join in from 8.30am on Sunday until 3pm. At the base camp, Macqueripe Bay car park, you can watch the experts at work identifying all the plants and animals collected during the survey, and check out displays by the Field Naturalists’ Club, Asa Wright Nature Centre, the EMA Youth Ambassadors, and CABI/Ministry of Food Production, Wildlife Section. The Zoological Society of Trinidad and Tobago will also be showing off animals from the zoo.
You can join guided walks around this incredible nature reserve to look at the birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, freshwater creatures and mini-beasts! Only 30 people are allowed on each walk on a first come, first served basis, so get there early.
Be sure to wear sensible footwear, and bring along bug spray, sun-screen, water and your camera, of course!
