Seminar: Issues and Prospects for the Next CELAC Summit in January 2013

The Institute of International Relations (IIR), in collaboration with the embassies of Chile, the Republic of Cuba and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Trinidad and Tobago, invite all to a seminar on “Issues  and  Prospects  for  the  Next  Summit  of  the  Presidents  of  the Community  of  Latin  American  and  Caribbean  States  (CELAC)  in Chile in  January 2013” on Friday, November 23, 2012, from 10am to noon, at Lecture Room I, the IIR, UWI St. Augustine Campus.   

The Honourable Winston Dookeran M.P., Minister of Foreign Affairs, will deliver the feature address on “The Significance of the Second CELAC Summit for the LAC Countries”.

The seminar will also feature a panel discussion on “Perspectives on the Second CELAC Summit.” The panelists include:

  1. Dr. Anthony Gonzales, Interim Director of the IIR
  2. Dr. Mark Kirton, Senior Lecturer at the IIR
  3. H.E. Fernando Ayala, Ambassador of Chile
  4. H.E. Coromoto Godoy, Ambassador of The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
  5. H.E. Humberto Rivero Rosario, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba
