The Institute of International Relations (IIR), Hugh Wooding Law School, and the Faculty of Law collaborate with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, to host a lecture and panel discussion in recognition of International Human Rights Day 2012. This event will take place on Monday 10th December, from 10am to noon, at the Hugh Wooding Law School Auditorium, St. Augustine.
The lecture, titled “The United Nations, Human Rights and Human Rights Defenders”, will feature Professor Ernst Hirsch Ballin, Professor of Human Rights at the University of Amsterdam and Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Tilburg, as the key speaker. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the topic, “The UN System of Human Rights and its Relevance to the Caribbean”, with distinguished panellists from the Hugh Wooding Law School, the IIR and the Faculty of Law.
Refreshments will be served after the panel discussion.
