Swami Ishtananda's view on 'Value Education'

The International Office and the High Commission of India, Port of Spain present a special address by Swami Ishtananda on "Value Education" on Tuesday 15th January 2013 from 5pm at the Learning Resource Centre, UWI St. Augustine Campus.

This address forms part of the 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda.

Swami Ish­tananda is Min­is­ter of the Vedanta Cen­ter of St Peters­bug, Florida. He joined the Rama­kri­shna Order in 1977, and served for many years in the North­east of India, at the Order’s cen­ters in Cher­ra­pun­jee and Along, before being posted to the Vedanta Soci­ety of South­ern Cal­i­fornia. He was appointed the Min­is­ter of the Vedanta Cen­ter of St Peters­burg in Decem­ber 2007.

The lecture on ‘Values Education’ will explore a values-based approach to the education process for equipping students with both technical and life skills and perspectives.  This lecture is the finale in a series hosted by the Indian High Commission to commemorate the 150th birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a famous Indian Scholar.”
