The International Office and the High Commission of India, Port of Spain present a special address by Swami Ishtananda on "Value Education" on Tuesday 15th January 2013 from 5pm at the Learning Resource Centre, UWI St. Augustine Campus.
This address forms part of the 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda.
Swami Ishtananda is Minister of the Vedanta Center of St Petersbug, Florida. He joined the Ramakrishna Order in 1977, and served for many years in the Northeast of India, at the Order’s centers in Cherrapunjee and Along, before being posted to the Vedanta Society of Southern California. He was appointed the Minister of the Vedanta Center of St Petersburg in December 2007.
The lecture on ‘Values Education’ will explore a values-based approach to the education process for equipping students with both technical and life skills and perspectives. This lecture is the finale in a series hosted by the Indian High Commission to commemorate the 150th birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a famous Indian Scholar.”
