The Faculty of Law in conjunction with the University of the West Indies Rights Advocacy Project (URAP) invites you to a public lecture, “A Study of Adjudication in Homicide cases involving Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) persons in the Caribbean”.
The lecture will be delivered by Se-shauna Wheatle, Stipendiary Lecturer at Exeter College, Oxford, and is based on a study conducted by her of transcripts and written judgments in available cases. These judgments are considered against the background of existing criminal laws, sentencing guidelines, judicial codes and constitutional principles.
About Se-Shauna Wheatle
Se-shauna Wheatle LL.B (Hons) (University of the West Indies) BCL (Dist), MPhil (Oxon) is currently Stipendiary Lecturer in Law at Exeter College. She is the 2008 Jamaica Rhodes Scholar and is pursuing research in the fields of comparative human rights law and comparative constitutional law.
