Sexualities in the Tent - Critical Sexualities Workshop

Join in a celebration of Caribbean lives and loving through calypso and stories, at "Sexualities in the Tent
: Patricia Gone with Millicent meets VS Naipaul, a queer Trinidadian," on Friday July 12, 5pm-8pm, at the Old Fire Station, NALIS (National Library and Information Systems). 

This is the first part of a 2-day event looking at Caribbean sexual citizenship. Friday’s cultural evening will be followed by presentations on Saturday, July 13, 10am-2pm, for invited groups to share their current work in this field. This event is part of a workshop programme funded by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council in collaboration with CAISO: Coalition Advocating for Inclusion of Sexual Orientation and the Institute for Gender and Development Studies, St. Augustine Unit. The programme is organised in association with the IGDS four-week short course on Critical Sexuality Studies: Theory and Practice.

Friday's event is free and open to the public. Drinks and refreshments will be available.

On Saturday July 13, you are invited to attend the Critical Sexualities Workshop, 10am-2pm. Sexualities in the Tent Academics, researchers, activists, service providers and NGOs are invited to share their current work in this field.

The day continues on Saturday with an evening of reflection and inspiration through the creation of a wall mural from 4pm to 8pm at Bohemia, corner of Murray Street and Ariapita Avenue. Art materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own, and to share words that inspire you with the Bohemia community.
