To coincide with the First International Ramleela Conference: Ramleela in the Global Village: Traditions, Innovations and Future Directions, which took place July 13-14 at the Learning Resource Centre, the Alma Jordan Library has mounted an exhibition entitled “Ramleela,” on the ground floor of the Library.
The exhibition aims to highlight to the University population the multitude of Library resources available on Ramleela, which is a Hindu festival celebrating the victory of Lord Rama. Items on display include Derek Walcott's 1992 Nobel PRize acceptance speech, and undergraduate and postgraduate research papers on Ramleela culture. Ramleela runs until Friday July 19.
