The Alma Jordan Library will mount a display titled “The Bible: Translations into Caribbean and Caribbean-related Languages", on the Ground Floor, from Wednesday September 25-Friday October 4. Come and take in the rich diversity of our Caribbean region.
The West Indiana and Special Collections Division of the Alma Jordan Library also hosts a lecture on Bible Translation(s) in the Caribbean by Dr Jo-Anne Ferreira, on Thursday September 26, at 2pm, at the Audio Visual room, 3rd floor, Alma Jordan Library.
Lecture: Bible Translation(s) in the Caribbean
The West Indiana and Special Collections (WISC) Division has closely followed the Bible translation movement in the region, and is currently a repository of an extensive collection of these Caribbean and Caribbean-related Bibles and Bible portions, in a number of formats. This talk will focus on the history of vernacular Bible translation(s), in the Caribbean and will offer a closer look at the actual Bible translations in the Alma Jordan WISC Division.
Dr Jo-Anne Ferreira is a senior lecturer in Linguistics and a member of SIL International (Americas Area).
