FSS Public Lecture: Equality of Educational Opportunity: The Race, Class and Crime Connection

The Faculty of Social Sciences hosts a public lecture titled “Equality of Educational Opportunity: The Race, Class and Crime Connection” on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 10am, at the Noor Hassanali Auditorium, Faculty of Law.  

This lecture will be presented by Professor Emeritus Ramesh Deosaran, who currently serves as the Chair, Police Service Commission and as a member of the Teaching Service Commission.  

This lecture will draw on empirical research conducted by Professor Deosaran over several years and should serve to influence public policy in the areas of Education, Youth Development and Crime Management in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean.   

Staff in the Faculties of Social Sciences and Humanities and Education as well as students from both Faculties, and in particular, students in Criminology, Psychology, Sociology and Education, are invited to attend.
