Seminar: Trinidad and Tobago and the Congress of Vienna

The Department of History invites all interested to a seminar titled “The Congress of Vienna and its global dimension – Trinidad and Tobago and the Congress of Vienna” on Friday November 29, 2013, from 4pm–6pm, 3rd floor, Faculty of Humanities and Education South Block, Rooms SB 1 and 2.  

Presenters:

- Dr Christian Cwik of Vienna, Lecturer, European and Atlantic History at The UWI, St. Augustine

- Dr Michael Toussaint, Lecturer, Imperial and Caribbean History at The UWI, St. Augustine  

At 5pm, as part of the seminar, there will be a workshop for educators titled “Conflicts and liberation in the context of the Congress of Vienna”.

It aims to help participants understand the nature and significance of European conflicts and the emergence of totalitarianism, and appreciate the political relations within which the twentieth-century world order developed 

This workshop will be conducted by:

- Dr Michael Toussaint, Lecturer, Imperial and Caribbean History at The UWI, St. Augustine
