The Department of Creative and Festival Arts Music Arts Unit presents Briele Scott in her final year Percussion Recital at the Centre for Language Learning (CLL) Auditorium. The recital begins at 6pm and admission is free.
A student of Dr Jeannine Remy, Briele will be performing on steelpan, snare drum, marimba, xylophone, timpani, drumkit and African drums, performing works by Brazilian composer Ney Rosauro; American Mitch Markovick known for his intensive marching snare drum compositions; and two time Pulitzer Prize award winner American Elliot Carter Jr.
On the steelpan, Briele will be performing a composition by young Trinidadian composer and graduate from The UWI and Northern Illinois University, Khion De Las; and also another composition by Trinidad’s musical icon, Ray Holman. This performance is for everyone: the musically minded, young percussionists, fans of live concert music, or anyone who just enjoys listening to music.
