The Institute for Gender and Development Studies (IGDS) hosts a public forum, Women and Political Power: A Right to Lead, on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, 10am–noon, at the Centre for Language Learning (CLL) Auditorium.
This panel will critically engage the issue of gender and leadership with particular focus on the current discourse surrounding women in positions of political leadership in Trinidad and Tobago, their right to political office and their ability to access political positions.
Chairing the forum is Dr Indira Rampersad, Lecturer, Behavioural Sciences.
Presenters are Sunity Maharaj, Managing Director, Lloyd Best Institute; Dr Gabrielle Hosein, Lecturer, IGDS; Dr Paula Morgan, Senior Lecturer, Liberal Arts; and Dr Winford James, Lecturer, School of Education.
The event is free and open to the public.
