Following on the huge success of ‘Carmina Burana’ in 2013, The Musical Arts Unit of the Department of Creative and Festival Arts, UWI presents “TEN” at NAPA – 3 celebrations; 3 world-class ensembles; 2 nights; one low price!
2014 is the tenth anniversary of Must Come See Productions (UWI Arts Chorale), the award winning UWI Steel, and UWI Percussion.
On Saturday April 12, from 8pm, see the UWI Arts Chorale, UWI Percussion and UWI Steel presenting Leonard Bernstein’s famous choral work Chichester Psalms with special guest Adam Corneal, countertenor. UWI Percussion will present diverse works including a special surprise piece while UWI Steel will perform a tribute to the Mighty Sparrow.Department Head, Jessel Murray, and Senior Lecturer, Jeanine Remy will conduct.
On Sunday April 13, from 6pm, Must Come See Productions presents Musicals in Retrospect in a special script designed by Kendra Sylvester Flores. Performances feature voices such as Krisson Joseph, Kendra Sylvester Flores, Adafih Padmore, Justin Zephyrine, Vidia Harroo, Elliot Francois and Kyle Richardson, with special guest Tramaine Lamy (currently performing in Lion King in London).
The performance is co-directed by award-winning directors Debra Boucaud-Mason and Louis Mc Williams, with music directed by Jessel Murray; choreography by Cacique awardee Adele Bynoe; stage management by Donna-Marie Bertrand and Asha Stewart, and costuming by Lyana Brown.
Tickets are $125 per night, and $200 for weekend passes. Discounts are available for seniors, children under 12, and tertiary level students with valid ID. Tickets may be purchased at the DCFA, Agostini Street, St. Augustine, at at NAPA, Port-of-Spain.
