As part of the First Year Experience, The UWI's year-long first-year orientation programme, orientation workshops will be hosted for postgraduate students. These workshops will help familiarise them with the ins and outs of postgraduate life at The UWI, specifically:
1) to expose new graduate students to the rules, regulations and sources of funding available to them by joining The UWI
2) to ensure that graduate students are introduced to the main processes (Banner etc.) and departments (Library) that serve them on the campus.
3) to make graduate students more aware of the facilities available to them through the BANNER system and GRIP portal as sources of information
4) to make the experience of the graduate students a more productive and pleasurable one by being able to open up the lines of communication, and get them to start thinking about what is required of them during a graduate degree.
Dates: September 23 and October 8, 2014, at the Teaching and Learning Complex (TLC) (4:30pm - 7:30pm).
