Guest Lecture: Street Children and Homeless Youth: A Cross-Cultural Perspective

The Department of Behavioural Sciences hosts a guest lecture by Dr Lewis Aptekar, Professor of Counselor Education at San Jose State University, titled “Street Children and Homeless Youth: A Cross-Cultural Perspective”. The lecture takes place on Wednesday June 18, 2014, from 7pm-8pm, at Room 100 West, Faculty of Social Sciences.  

All interested staff and students are invited to attend.

More on Dr Aptekar 

Dr Aptekar received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Michigan. After having post-graduate training in Clinical Psychology from Texas Tech Medical School, he became licensed as a Clinical Psychologist.  

He is a Professor of Counselor Education at San Jose State University with academic awards including two Fulbright scholarships (Colombia and Swaziland), and the Kellogg/Partners of the Americas Fellowship in International Development. He is past President, Society of Cross-cultural Research, a former Scholar at the Rockefeller Foundation Study and Conference Center (Bellagio, Italy), a Senior Fulbright Specialist, Honduras, and a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship, University of Zambia.
