The UWI Sport and Physical Education Centre has been hosting its annual half marathon for the past 10 years. In 2014, the 11^th edition will be held on Sunday October 26^th.

Starting with a modest number of participants, the race has grown through the years, and a field of 1,100 will face the starter for this year’s edition of the UWI SPEC International Half-Marathon.  

Normally sounding at 6am, the pistol for the 2014 race will instead go off at 5.30am.  

Along with the earlier start time, other improvements for this year’s race include entertainment along the half-marathon route with pan ‘round the neck, drum-ology and tassa courtesy the Ministry of the Arts and Multiculturalism.
