More

The UN General Assembly has designated 2014 “International Year of Family Farming.”

Every year, World Food Day provides a sobering reminder that, in a world of plenty, more than 800 million people go hungry each day. This means one in eight people do not get enough food to be healthy and lead an active life.

More than a decade after world leaders pledged, at the 1996 World Food Summit, to reduce the number of chronically undernourished people by the year 2015, much remains to be done.

In Trinidad and Tobago, with sustained economic growth and national prosperity, poverty still affects more than 16% of our population.
