The Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning presents "An Introduction to Grant Proposal Writing: Placing knowledge at the service of development and pursuing funding". This event takes place this Friday November 28 from 9am-12.30pm at Tutorial Room 1, Ground Floor, Teaching & Learning Complex, St. Augustine Circular.
This workshop aims to provide early career researchers with an introductory understanding of how to place high-level scientific knowledge at the service of development and when pursuing research funding. The interactive research-centred workshop will also allow researchers to gain an understanding of existing research support and to discuss the additional support that is available to them. Participants will be provided with samples of proposals which have and have not received funding and get an appreciation of how to build research teams.
Workshop Topics include:
• What research funders are looking for
• Attracting investment to support the growth of the campus’s research capacity
• Support offered by the Office of Research Development and Knowledge Transfer
• How to write measurable deliverables
