International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2014

Location: Outside ASDLU’s Office, South of the Alma Jordan Library, JFK Quadrangle


The Academic Support/Disabilities Liaison Unit (ASDLU) Office celebrates "The United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2014" under the theme under the theme “Sustainable Development: The Promise of Technology.” This event takes place next week: 1st – 5th December, 2014 from 9.00 am – 12noon.
 
Every day during this week, there will be an informational booth outside the Academic Support/Disabilities Liaison Unit's (ASDLU) Office, South of the Alma Jordan Library, JFK Quadrangle. An exhibition will also take place at the Alma Jordan Library. There will also be the ASDLU Recognition Awards. 
 
The format includes a week of highlighting different disability issues and providing information aimed at promoting an understanding of disability issues and mobilizing support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
 
• 1st December, 2014 – ‘Physical Disabilities’
• 2nd December, 2014 - ‘Learning Disabilities’
• 3rd December, 2014 – ‘Disability on Campus’
• 4th December, 2014 – ‘Mental Health Day’
• 5th December, 2014 – ‘Open House’, showcasing ASDLU
