MAIN OBJECTIVES

To provide the opportunity for participants to become aware of the issues associated with dams such as:

  • Hydrologic considerations in sizing Dams and their reservoirs
  • The need for Stakeholders to play a greater role during project conceptualization
  • Risks associated with Dam Failure
  • Environmental impacts of Dams on fresh water Ecology and Habitat in the Northern Range
  • Reduced Design Life through loss of useable storage due to sedimentation.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Civil, Agricultural and Environmental Engineers and Managers, Drainage and Highways Divisions and Regional Corporations, Land Developers and lectures and students in the field.
