Dr. Yuan Peng, male, Research Professor, is Vice President of China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR). His research focuses on American foreign policy, China-US relations, Asia-Pacific security, Taiwan issue and China foreign policy, etc.
He was Director of the Institute of American Studies, CICIR (2007-2012). He was also a visiting scholar at the Atlantic Council of the United States between 1999 and 2000 and at the Brookings Institute from 2003 to 2004. He published several books including the American Think Tanks and Their Attitudes toward China (2003), and China and the US Accommodating in the Asia Pacific (2013).
Dr. Yuan joined CICIR in 1997 after graduating from the Northeast Normal University with the Doctor’s degree in American history. He got his master’s degree in history at the East China Normal University in 1991 and his bachelor’s degree in history at Hubei University in 1988.
