The Department of Creative and Festival Arts (DCFA) presents "Music of the Diaspora." 

 

This event takes place at 7pm.   

 

Admission: Adults $50; Students $30 and children under 12 and are available at the DCFA, Gordon, St. Augustine.

 

This collaboration between the UWI Indian Classical Ensemble, The UWI Afro Caribbean Drumming Ensemble and the Intermediate Steel Ensemble will explore a range of musical themes derived from Bollywood, Indian classical music traditions, Indian folk music and world music from Japan, Spain, Africa and a repertoire of local compositions.  

 

Students of the UWI Music programmes will perform on Western and Indian musical instruments in small to medium sized ensembles.

 

Likewise, the UWI Intermediate Pan Ensemble brings an intriguing blend of selections to the concert.
