The Department of Creative and Festival Arts (DCFA) Music Arts Unit presents a Final Year Recital featuring Jamal Morgan and Mark Forde.
The recital takes place from 7pm.
This event is open to the public and all are invited.
Mark Forde
A student of Dr. Jeannine Remy, Forde will be performing on steelpan, marimba, xylophone, timpani, and vibraphone. His pieces include works by Croatian composer Tonči Huljić; American composer, John Beck—best known for his intensive percussion compositions; and Romantic composer, George Fredrick Handel. On the steelpan, Mark will be showcase an arrangement of pieces by jazz pioneer, Charlie Parker.
Jamal Morgan
Morgan has been a police officer and member of the Royal Barbados Police Force Band (RBPFB) for the past 13 years. He will be performing on trumpet. Jamal’s first trumpet tutor was the late Kenrick Moore, former Director of Music of the RBPFB and current lecturer at the DCFA Musical Arts Unit. Under the current tutelage of Mr. Moore, Morgan is able to enjoy playing a diversity of brass instruments namely; Bb Cornet, Flugelhorn and Trumpet.
