As part of the 60th Anniversary celebrations, UWI is embarking on a series of activities to aid in the restructuring and revitalization of the agriculture industry in the region with the aim of achieving food security, poverty alleviation and wealth creation. One of these activities is Agritech 2008 to be held from Wednesday 16th – Sunday 20th April, 2008 at the University Field Station from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Agritech 2008 will feature the latest technologies driving agriculture globally and presented in a modern farm setting. This exhibition will focus on several thematic areas namely: Crop Farming Systems, Livestock Farming Exhibits, Alternate Agriculture Livelihoods, Plant & Animal Health, Food and Nutrition and others.
Primary, Secondary and Tertiary level students, stakeholders within the Agricultural Industry as well as the general public are all invited. Major Sponsors for Agritech 2008 is The Agricultural Society of Trinidad and Tobago.
