First Year Experience: UWI Life Student & Information Village

Event Date(s): 28/08/2015

Location: UWI Sport & Physical Education Centre (SPEC), St. Augustine

First Year Experience (FYE) is a year-long orientation programme for new students. FYE is a holistic compilation of all orientation and transition events, which embrace every aspect of university life, and has become one of the largest and most anticipated series of events on the campus calendar. The objective of FYE is to ensure that all first year undergraduate and postgraduate students enjoy the smoothest possible transition to The UWI way of life.

UWI Life Student & Information Village

UWI Life, a one-day event that introduces new students to the ins and outs of campus life with an orientation programme by UWI Administration. Something has been added for the 2015 academic year: new students will experience Live at UWI Life, a ramped up UWI Life experience that features a live show at the UWI Life Student and Information Village.

At Live at UWI Life, the new students can engage key UWI faculty, staff and current students who will formally introduce them to a behind-the-scenes look at life on the campus. Tailored to the newcomer, the approach is less formal and is aimed at facilitating greater interaction. A Guild of Students’ host joins top local entertainers to set the right tone. First year students can expect the usual giveaways and fun activities that have been staples in years’ past but with the added infusion of live entertainment to bring campus scenarios to life.

This event begins at 9am
