SALISES Public Forum: The 2015 General Elections in Trinidad and Tobago - Analysis and more

The Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES) presents a Forum on The 2015 General Elections in Trinidad and Tobago: analysis of results and implications of Governmental Change.

It takes place at 10am. 

Panelists include:

  • Dr. Bishnu Ragoonath, Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Political Science, UWI, St. Augustine;
  • Mrs Indera Sagewan-Alli, Economist and Executive Director of the Caribbean Centre for Competitiveness;
  • Mr Tony Fraser, Freelance Journalist and Social and Political Commentator;
  • Mr Mark Wilson, Journalist on Caribbean Affairs and Contributor to The Economist and The Economist Intelligence Unit. 

The session shall be chaired by Professor Patrick Watson, Director, SALISES.

The SALISES Fora are dedicated principally to matters of urgent local and regional importance. Topics previously debated include the 2011 State of Emergency in Trinidad and Tobago, the role of the Commonwealth, Proposed Constitutional Reform for Trinidad & Tobago, the death penalty, the state of West Indian cricket, the San Fernando-Point Fortin Highway, the threat of the Ebola virus and many others.

The Noor Hassanali Auditorium is housed on the same site as the SALISES main offices, on the western side of the main Campus of the UWI, St Augustine, adjacent to, and north of, the Institute of International Relations.
