The Centre for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL) presents the Cool Tools in Education Workshop.

Learn about new blended learning technologies such as Pow Toons, Poll Everywhere and more.

The workshop takes place from 1 to 4.30pm. To register please email cetl@sta.uwi.edu. Kindly include your title (Ms/Mr/Dr/Prof…) and department in your email.  Registration is on a first come first served basis. 

About the Workshop

Through technology, the world of education and blended learning is evolving every day. From Delicious and Prezi to Twitter and Twiddla, there is a plethora of exciting technology tools that are not only free but easily available and convenient. Within blended learning, these tools can be strategically and effectively used to enhance the teaching and learning experience. This workshop will introduce participants to Pow Toons, Poll Everywhere and Youtube to mp4, and will also illustrate the ways in which these tools can be used to effectively enhance teaching and learning.  

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this workshop, you will be able to:

• Describe cool tools in education

• Produce animated PowerPoint presentations using Pow Toons

• Develop online polls using Poll Everywhere

• Use video converters for the downloading of videos towards educational ends

• Identify the most appropriate technology tools for course delivery
