The University of the West Indies in collaboration with the High Commission of India and the Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Co-operation present A Journey to the Roots of our Indian Music – an evening of music with the Rajesh Pandey Group from India. This performance will take place on March 22 at Dagaa Auditorium, The UWI, St. Augustine Campus from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Rajesh Pandey is known for his work with Bollywood films, he is one of only a few mainstream singers who still sing Bhojpuri songs which is directly relevant to us here in Trinidad as this is the music which came with the original waves of East Indians to the Caribbean and it therefore forms the basis for all contemporary Indo-Trini music today. His performance will include Bhajans, Ghazala, Geet and Bollywood songs
