The Department of Creative and Festival Arts (DCFA) Musical Arts Unit in collaboration with The UWI Arts Intermediate Steel Ensemble and The UWI Arts Indian Classical Ensemble present Music of the Diaspora.
Listen to world music from Bollywood, Indian classical music traditions, Indian folk music and the music of Japan, Spain, Africa and a repertoire of local compositions.
The UWI Arts Intermediate Pan Ensemble brings an intriguing blend of selections to the concert, including performances of music by Jit Samaroo, Edwin Pouchet and arrangements by Deryck Nurse, Barry Mannette and Sheldon Peters.
Also, for the first time, The UWI Arts Intermediate Ensemble is under the direction of Barry Mannette, a recent graduate of Northern Illinois University and the UWI.
Tickets are priced at $50 General Admission and $30 for students and children under 12 and are available at the DCFA, Gordon, St. Augustine.
