The Department of Clinical Veterinary Sciences will be hosting a presentation by Dr. Tisha Harper on the topic, Small animal physical therapy and rehabilitation.
The presentation takes place between noon and 1pm.
About the presentation
The practice of physical therapy and rehabilitation allows the practitioner to examine and evaluate patients with impairments, functional limitations, disability and other health-related problems to determine a diagnosis, prognosis and intervention. This talk will cover the benefits of physical therapy, goals, and types of modalities available.
About Dr. Harper
Dr. Harper is a board-certified small animal surgeon with special interest in orthopedics and rehabilitation. She graduated from the University of the West Indies, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 and completed her surgical residency training at the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Medicine, The University of Illinois. She is also a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner.
